Zantho Cabernet Franc 2023 – a new grape variety in our vineyards

Our new classic wine, Zantho Cabernet Franc presents itself with a deep red color and violet rim brightening. On the nose, this red wine develops a finely spiced fruit reminiscent of blackberries and rose hips underpinned by peppery notes. On the palate, one again finds a juicy and deeply spicy blackberry fruit supported by multi-layered impressions of laurel, pepper, black tea, dried tomatoes and dark chocolate. The wine shows rich on the palate with great freshness and a perfect balance. Our Cabernet has been finished in stainless steel and big wooden barrels and is a perfect food companion to red meat, mushrooms and Asian spiced dishes.

Cabernet Franc counts to the late ripening grape varieties that prefer best vineyards. The grape variety finds optimum terroir in Andau and is a perfect add to our portfolio prepared to face the upcoming climatic changes in our region. Cabernet Franc is an old, original grape variety which brought by spontaneous crossing with Sauvignon Blanc the world-wide popular Cabernet Sauvignon. The origin of this grape variety lies allegedly in the French Loire valley, where some of the most distinguished red wines are being produced. € 17.20/liter
