It has been a while since the last time the Neusiedlersee froze in winter. A long and cold winter made us wait for spring to arrive until April. Nevertheless, the bud burst is quiet early and quickly as well – even though it is quite dry outside the plants seem to grow fast and even the blossoming is finished in May. Everything is fast and we had to work hard in the vineyards to catch up. An early harvest seems to be knocking at our doors. A humid July accelerates the vegetational growth. The sun comes out often in August and brings ideal conditions for the sugar production of the plant making our grapes gain high sugar levels fairly quickly. Harvest began without any bigger problems – healthy, ripe berries with perfect sugar levels characterized our harvest season – a really exceptional vintage!
