After a very changeable winter followed a very promising springtime with an early bud burst – an early bud burst is always a bit risky due to cooler temperatures because the young shoots are very sensitive towards frost. Between the 27^th and the 29^th of April we were haunted by frost nights that only the older members could remember similar years from the 60s – a good portion of our younger vineyards were affected – therefore we had to lay our focus on the regeneration and growth of the plants. The blossoming occurred in June and went surprisingly well – the yield was still rather low, and we were able to conduct a quick harvest season. A beautiful end of summer with perfect harvesting conditions combined with a low yield not only saved the high quality of our grapes but also exceeded our usual expectations. We are looking forward to a vintage with very high quality.
