Zweigelt Reserve
2022 – 0,75l – 16,90€
The grapes grow in our vineyards in the wine region Neusiedlersee which is characterized by dry, gritty and mineral soils. The region counts to the warmest and dryest spots in Austria and gives therefore ideal conditions for the production of wonderfully distinctive red wines.
Our Zweigelt Reserve shows a deep red colour with a purple rim. In the nose the Reserve shows incredibly deep and fine fruit which remembers of fresh cherries, blueberries and hints of cinamon. On the palate it shows again spicy cherries and blueberries which are backed-up by fine spiciness. The wine ends in a long and elegant finish with fine notes of chocolate. Great ageing potential!
Enjoy this wine with heavy meat dishes and cheeses.

The red grape Zweigelt is the most spread red grape variety in Austria. It is a crossing from Blaufränkisch and Sankt Laurent. The name derives from breeder Professor Fritz Zweigelt who worked on the crossing in 1922 at Klosterneuburg. Zweigelt covers today about 6.200ha – which makes up 14% of Austria’s vineyards.
The grape variety is planted in almost all wine regions in Austria but brings only regularly extraordinary quality in Carnuntum and Neusiedlersee region. Its versatility is amazing: from young, fresh and fruity wines up to complex and rich wines finished in oak barrels with good ageing potential – this grape variety is a real allrounder.
